Refined 3/4 Alien Ideas

After receiving feedback and developing these characters further I decided to take these ideas in a new direction by focusing on creating three separate three-quarter view pieces. I feel the most successful of these is the wolf-humanoid alien idea from how the stance and attitude convey much more emotion than the other two pieces. At this stage I feel that these still have a long way to go, but at least I feel that my work in character design is at least developing.

Further Alien Ideas

Following on from the first alien ideas I had I listened to feedback from the class and created these new designs. I was asked to base the fish into a more fish-like humanoid design while giving the longer, almost double jointed, legs to the bear-like character. I was also asked to make the female alien more attractive which I felt would be a nice juxtaposition against the boils on her skin. Unfortunately I am really not pleased with these ideas, I could not completely click with these character designs and decided to once again change them after feedback.

Key Scene Draft

By using the previous alien concepts I was tasked to put the aliens into a key scene within the alien prison concept. For this I decided to place my three characters within a containment and processing area within the entrance to the prison.

Alien Prisoner Concepts

Here I began to look into the initial designs for the aliens that could inhabit the prison environment I was tasked to concept. For these I tried to keep quite an animalistic element to the characters, taking direct influence from sci-fi sources and nature. I'm not particularly pleased with these designs and after feedback I decided to change them.
