I took a similar approach with the creation of the Head Warden, studying various body reference sources and generally trying to 'paint' more than 'draw'. One of the biggest things I've learnt through this module is how I approach work and by blocking out shapes in broad strokes, rather than using line work, I feel much more comfortable.

For this I decided to really try and merge my environmental painting style with my character designs. I tried to do this in a way that would loosen my painting control, stopping me from worrying about precise line drawing that I felt held me back from being completely expressive. My copying, pasting, painting, rotating and general approaching the creative process in a much more free and dynamic way, I feel that the end result is a much more successful attempt at a character idea.
